Pullman Hospital Rebranding and Grand Opening

Pullman Memorial Hospital sought assistance in the grand opening of a new state-of-the-art replacement facility. The grand opening coincided with the launch of a new name—Pullman Regional Hospital—and new brand. As the second newest hospital in Washington State in the past 25 years, and the only hospital in the county, Pullman Regional Hospital's new facility is a significant development in the State of Washington. As part of a comprehensive market research and rebranding effort, PRR helped develop a new graphic identity for the hospital.

PRR began with a review of existing proprietary research previously conducted by the hospital. PRR then assembled focus groups with community members and researched participants' thoughts about the hospital, its name and logo, their health care priorities, and other operational functions. With the information received from focus group participants, PRR recommended a name modification and brand overhaul, and presented several different logo design concepts to Pullman hospital management to choose from. PRR's graphics team continued to refine logo concepts until a final design was selected. Once selected, PRR developed the new logo and color scheme, and generated a family of colors that could be incorporated into the hospital's printed materials and various collateral. The color family palette provided the hospital with a graphic guideline for their new brand. The project team also helped design and implement the grand opening materials, which helped make the opening a huge success. As a direct result of PRR's work, Pullman management successfully changed the hospital name, logo and colors, and incorporated the community's suggestions into the overall theme for the hospital. PRR's design work helped reinforce public awareness and strengthened Pullman Regional Hospital's position in Washington State and beyond. The new brand is currently being used on all hospital advertising and collateral materials to successfully communicate with hospital patients and the community at large.
