Whether it’s planning a transit route or building a new water treatment facility, we craft an inclusive engagement plan that considers the unique community to ensure it is effective. This means meeting people where they are, ideologically, physically, and digitally. This means using language they use. This means talking to people they trust and moving at a pace that allows them to provide meaningful input.
Attention is currency. How we process and understand information often starts with what we can see, hear, or experience. Our team of creatives brings projects to life through a variety of media to reach people in ways they understand and that resonate with them. We consider how audiences will experience our assets through the human-centered design process, bringing them along to help create with us. This happens through collaboration to better understand what will and won’t work in order to truly reach people.
We work in a sea of acronyms, but perhaps none more important than DEI – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the foundation needed to Make it Meaningful. We develop and implement plans to effectively engage people who are historically marginalized, left out and left behind, disproportionately impacted, and seldom heard. This includes people affected by racism, bias, poverty, ableism, limited-English proficiency, disability, and immigration.
When you get several people in a room, virtually anything can happen. We have experience guiding diverse processes and groups, from small teams of community members to large parties of policy makers, from teams of engineers to mixed groups of environmentalists, industry, and utility representatives. Whether in-person or virtual, we will keep the process on time, on topic, and engaging for participants.
Our research team brings a deep understanding of human behavior and expertise in collecting and analyzing data about how people think, feel, and act. We customize our research approach and tools to gather reliable and valid data that enable communities, agencies, and organizations to confidently make decisions. Our research has led transit agencies to revise routes and improve customer service, change behaviors in ways that improve the environment, and inform youth-centered health campaigns.
Community-based social marketing is grounded in tenets of listening and responding. We work to understand our audience, figure out how to meaningfully reach them in message and practice, and then test and refine that approach with them to make sure it leads to behavior change. Marketing is an integrated practice that combines insights from all our team members, whether they work in research, DEI, or our Creative Studio. We cut through the clutter to reach people and compel them to act.

An anti-racist PRR dismantles systems of advantage based on race when and wherever possible. We engage staff of all racial identities in dismantling white supremacy culture at work. This includes personal ideologies, beliefs, and behaviors. And, it includes removing white supremacy culture from the systems, cultural messages, institutional policies, procedures, and practices that PRR and our staff interact with and inform. We believe it is not enough to be “not racist.” We must be “anti-racist.”
